Vijayendra Ghatge as Sunil Kishan

Vijayendra Ghatge is a multitalented actor seen in both Indian TV and movie industry. The most popular performance of this actor can be seen in Buniyaad among other serials and several of movies such as Prem Rog. Vijayendra Ghatge also acted, as Paro`s (Aishwarya Rai) husband in the film Devdas. Vijayendra Ghatge is also father of Sagarika Ghatge, who is a Marathi speaking Indian actress. She portrayed the role of Preeti Sabharwal, a member of the Indian women`s national hockey team; in the 2007 smash hit film, Chak De India, sharing the screen with the maestro Shahrukh Khan. As a result of her role in Chak De India, Ghatge is also chosen as a representative for Reebok.

Early life:Zarina Wahab (born 1959) is an Indian actress and former model, who was critically acclaimed for starring roles, such as in Chit Chor and Gopal Krishna in the 1970s.Born in a Muslim family in Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. She is fluent in Telugu and Hindi. She was trained at FTII.

Filmmaker Raj Kapoor was unimpressed with her look, when he met her at FTII. So Zarina worked on her appearance and attended film parties and events, and the industry people took notice and decided to cast her in films. She was usually cast as the middle-class, natural beauty. She had a major hit film in Basu Chatterjee’s Chit Chor (1976). She also starred in Gharonda (1977).She earned a Filmfare nomination as Best Actress for this role.She has acted in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam films, and has become fluent in Malayalam.She made a comeback to Malayalam in the movie Calendar, which released in 2009. She is slated to appear in the 2010 release, My Name Is Khan as the mother of Rizwan Khan (Shah Rukh Khan).She prefers Telugu films, and has encouraged her daughter Sana to start out acting in a South Indian film, the way she had in a Telugu film Gajula Kistayya (1975) with Krishna (actor). Her daughter Sana Pancholi has tried her hand at acting in 2006. Wahab currently plays older roles in television serials.

A.K. Hangal, born Avtar Kishan Hangal, (1917, [Sialkot]], [Punjab (Pakistan)is a well known character actor of Indian Hindi films.

His childhood was spent in Peshawar, where he had performed in theatre for some major roles. However, his primary occupation for the early part of his life was that of a tailor. He was an active participant in the Indian freedom struggle. Following his father’s retirement, the family moved from Peshawar to Karachi. He moved to Bombay after the Partition of India in 1949 after 3 years in prison in Pakistan. He was involved with the theatre group IPTA along with Balraj Sahni and Kaifi Azmi, both of whom had Marxist leanings.

He started his Hindi film career at the very late age of around 50 with Basu Bhattacharya’s Teesri Kasam in 1966, and went on to play the quintessential meek and oppressed old man in innumerable Hindi movies. His own favourites are the roles he played in Sholay and Shaukeen. In movies he has played a very large number of character roles, mostly positive. He has acted in more than 125 films so far.

Dina Pathak or Deena Pathak (4 March 1922 – 11 October 2002) was a veteran Gujarati theatre and film actress, a woman activist and President of the ‘National Federation of Indian Women’ A doyen of Hindi and Gujarati films as well as theatre, Dina Pathak acted in over 120 films in a career spanning over six decades.She is best known for her memorable roles in the Hindi films Gol Maal and Khubsoorat.

Amol Palekar born 24 November 1944 in Bombay Maharasthra is a well known actor of the 1970s and later a director of notable Hindi and Marathi cinema.Amol Palekar was born in Mumbai(Bombay) into a Marathi-speaking family. He attended the Sir J. J. School of Art.He made his debut in 1971 with the noted Marathi film Shantata! Court Chalu Aahe directed by Satyadev Dubey, which started the ‘New Cinema’ Movement in Marathi.In 1974 he was cast as an actor by Basu Chatterjee in Rajnigandha, and a surprise low-budget hit, Chhoti Si Baat, with none of the conventonal trappings of Bollywood Cinema. This led to many other such roles in “middle-class” comedies, mostly alternative cinema. These were often directed by Chatterjee or Hrishikesh Mukherjee and include such films as Gol Maal and Naram Garam. He won the Filmfare Best Actor Award for Gol Maal.He is famous for his image of the “middle-class everyman” who struggles to get a job (Gol-Maal), his own flat (Gharonda), a girlfriend/wife (Baaton Baaton Mein), appreciation from his boss, etc.His acting is naturalistic and understated, as opposed to the histrionic, melodramatic performances typical of Bollywood. However, he does techniques that have become audience favorites, such as a difficulty with finding words when stressed, almost to the point of stammering. He usually plays “the Good Indian Boy, the kind your mother-in-law would like!”Interestingly, in his entire career he has never portrayed a Muslim or a Sikh (though he did portray an Indian Catholic in Baaton Baaton Mein in 1977) which is considered de rigueur for mainstream Bollywood stars in order to cultivate the widest possible fan base in a country with substantial minorities.He turned to directing with the Marathi film Aakriet.

Of late he has directed some well known movies like Paheli (Sharukhan’s home production) which was India’s Official entry to the Oscars .
